Synopsis : Une place bétonnée juste à côté de la gare Perrache. Les voyageurs et les flâneurs vont et viennent comme de mornes fantômes. Entre le manège qui tourne en rond et le monument immémorial «À la gloire de la République» que personne ne voit plus, une étincelle embrase le lieu.

Synopsis : A square near the Perrache train station in Lyon. The travelers and the strollers are coming and going like bleak phantoms. Between the roundabout that is making turns and the immemorial monument «to the glory of the republic» that noboby sees anymore, a spark sets the place on fire.

Rivière au tonnerre/Thunder River

Fissures

Synopsis : Un exercice de regard intense sur une paroi rocheuse tournée près des chutes de Rivière-au-tonnerre sur la côte nord du fleuve St-Laurent. Une méditation sur l’opacité, sur les fissures qui peuvent ouvrir toutes choses et toutes situations sur l’infinité du sens. C’est le volet ontologique, le moment du regard pur, au sein des épisodes de la série Lieux et monuments qui est un projet d’exploration des fissures qui lézardent n’importe quelle scène banale, n'importe quelle foule anonyme, n’importe quel monument oublié, et laissent s’infiltrer, jusqu’à l’éclatement, les constellations invisibles de l’Histoire.

Synopsis : An intense exercise of looking at a rockface shot near the waterfalls of Rivière au tonnerre, on the North Shore of the St-Lawrence river. A meditation about opacity, about the fissures that can open up anything, any situation on the infinity of meaning. It is the ontological moment, the moment of pure seeing, amongst the episodes of the "Places and Monuments" series that is a project of exploration of the fissures that crack any banal scene of daily life, any anonymous crowd, any forgotten monument, and that let seek through, until it explodes, the invisible constellations of history.
