Aujourd’hui, où peut-être demain (car j’ai beau penser que c’est terminé, il reste toujours un détail à rajuster), j’ai terminé un nouveau film, Tropismes-2. Il s’agit d’un travail fait à partir de la performance que j’ai présentée avec Andrea Martignoni, à Vienne, en juin dernier. Comme c’est en train de devenir une tradition avec Andrea, ce fut un mélange de travail numérique et de gravure en direct sur pellicule. La performance fut un vif succès, mais je l’ai rapidement oublié. Elle est remontée à la surface cet automne lorsque, à l’invitation d’André Habib, je suis allé faire une présentation pour les étudiants en cinéma de l’université de Montréal. J’ai décidé de montrer un extrait de cette expérience et j’ai été frappé par le caractère très dramatique de ce que j’ai revu avec une certaine distance. La réaction des étudiants a également été éloquente. J’ai donc pensé que ça valait la peine d’essayer d’en faire quelque chose.
